Tire Splitter Machine

Tire Splitter Machine

The tire splitter machine is designed for the pre-treatment stage of waste tire recycling. It can split whole tires with a diameter of up to 1400 mm into two halves along the center line, reducing tire size and making them easier to process in the next steps. After splitting, the tire pieces can be further processed by strip cutters and block cutters to produce smaller rubber pieces for recycling.

  • Powerful hydraulic cutting.
  • Suitable for tires up to 1400 mm.
  • Simple and stable operation.

In the waste tire recycling process, tires contain steel beads and internal steel wires, which makes it difficult for whole tires to be fed directly into a shredder. Doing so may increase the load on the equipment and even affect the service life of the blades. Therefore, pre-processing is usually required before the shredding stage.

Some customers prefer to cut the tire into two halves first to reduce its overall size and make the subsequent processing easier. To meet this demand, we developed the tire splitting machine, which is designed to quickly cut a whole tire into two parts along the center line, providing more suitable material size for the next recycling process.

Function and Application of The Tire Half Cutting Machine

This machine is designed to cut whole tires into two halves along the center line, making them easier to process in the next recycling steps. After splitting, the tire halves can be further processed by a tire strip and block cutting machine (All-in-one machine) to produce 3–5 cm rubber blocks, which are suitable for further shredding or rubber powder production.

Machine Structure of The Tire Splitter Machine

The hydraulic tire half cutting machine has a simple and robust structure. It mainly consists of the following components:

  • Machine frame
  • Transmission system
  • Hydraulic system
  • Electric motor
  • Tire supporting platform
  • Disc cutting blades

These components work together to provide strong cutting force and stable operation during the tire splitting process.

Tire Half Cutting Machine Working Principle

The machine operates through a combination of mechanical rotation and hydraulic movement. The working process is as follows:

  1. Place the tire on the tire supporting platform.
  2. Hold the fixed cutting disc and switch on the power supply.
  3. Press the start button, and the moving cutting discs begin to rotate.
  4. The hydraulic cylinder automatically pushes the rotating discs toward the tire.
  5. The two moving cutting discs cut through the tire tread until the tire is completely split into two halves.
  6. After cutting is completed, press the lifting button, and the hydraulic cylinder moves the cutting discs away from the tire.
  7. The operator can then remove the split tire pieces.

This hydraulic system ensures stable pressure and smooth cutting, allowing the machine to cut through thick rubber and internal steel wires efficiently.

Tire Pre-treatment Solutions

After being processed by the tire splitter machine, the tire halves can be further processed with a tire strip and block cutting machine (2-in-1) to produce 3–5 cm rubber blocks, which are suitable for the next shredding or grinding stage.

In addition to this solution, we also provide several other tire pre-treatment options to meet different recycling requirements and tire types.

Solution 1: Bead Cutting + Strip Cutting + Block Cutting + Bead Wire Separation

In this process, a tire bead cutting machine is first used to remove the bead sections on both sides of the tire that contain steel wires. The remaining tire body is then cut into strips by a tire strip cutter, and the strips are further processed into blocks by a tire block cutting machine. The removed bead parts are sent to a bead wire separator, where the steel wires are separated from the rubber.

Solution 2: Tire Debeader + Tire Cutter

In this solution, a tire debeader is used first to pull out the steel bead wires from both sides of the tire. After the steel wires are removed, the tire is sent to a tire cutting machine, which cuts the tire into several pieces for easier shredding.

Solution 3: Tire Bead Removal and Cutter Machine + Bead Wire Separator

This integrated machine can perform bead cutting and tire cutting in one process. The tire is first cut to remove the bead sections and then cut into pieces. The removed bead parts are processed by a bead wire separator to separate the steel wires from the rubber.

After these pre-treatment steps, the processed tire materials can be further handled by tire shredders and rubber powder machines to produce rubber granules or rubber powder for recycling applications.
